It is coordinated by Tudományos és Technológiai Alapítvány from Hungary. GENDERA is a pilot initiative with an interdisciplinary cross section of partners from policy makers in science and research, human resources experts, sociologists, experienced scientists (men and women) and business consultants committed to boosting gender equality in scientific research.
Collaborating EU networks:
- DIVERSITY: The three-year project DIVERSITY (Improving the gender diversity management in materials research institutions) is funded by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Programme and represents a pilot initiative of networking policy makers, human resources experts and science networks. 13 European partners aim to tackle the problem of the underrepresentation of women in decision-making by fostering a more stimulating research environment in the spirit of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for their Recruitment.
- genSET: genSET develops capacity for mainstreaming gender in science and science institutions through a range of support actions promoting dialogue between science community and gender research experts. The key aim is to promote the inclusion of gender and/or sex analysis in research process, and wider uptake of best practice for gender equity in scientific workforce.
- gender-IT: The gender-IT project (Fostering gender mainstreaming in the ICT sector) is a two-year initiative co-funded by the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Programme, under the Leonardo da Vinci Action. It aims to contribute to innovative and attractive VET practices in the ICT sector in order to cover the existing gender gap with women accounting for less than 20% of computer systems designers, analysts and programmers in the EU27.
